OVERVIEW: For this five-week project, I created a vibrant and cohesive brand identity package for Sweet Freedom, a North Carolina-based food truck that reimagines gluten and dairy-free donuts as something to celebrate rather than compromise on. The concept was born from a desire to bring joy and inclusivity to the food truck scene—because dietary restrictions shouldn't mean missing out on life's sweet moments.
I developed a playful yet sophisticated custom logotype that incorporates a chocolate donut as the "O" in "Freedom," instantly communicating the truck's specialty while establishing a memorable visual hook. The color palette marries turquoise with warm coral tones to create a fresh, inviting aesthetic that stands out in urban environments.
The menu design was particularly rewarding to develop. I focused on creating a clear hierarchy between signature items, seasonal specials, and customizable options while infusing the layout with personality through subtle donut illustrations and playful descriptions. Every typographic decision was made with both brand personality and readability in mind.
For marketing collateral, I designed a distinctive food truck wrap that transforms the vehicle into a rolling billboard and created business cards that double as mini-brand ambassadors. The typographic ad campaign revolves around the tagline "Freedom Never Tasted So Sweet," emphasizing the liberating experience of finding delicious treats without dietary restrictions.
What I'm most proud of is how each element feels distinctly "Sweet Freedom" while maintaining the functional needs of a busy food truck business. The result is a cohesive, joyful brand identity that invites everyone to enjoy freedom from ordinary donuts.
